Love is in the air.
A pilot proposed to his girlfriend midflight as the plane cruised at 30,000 feet in a public display that had hearts soaring.
A passenger recorded the sweet moment the unnamed Aeromexico captain declared his love for his girlfriend, who was seated in first class, over the speaker.
“Today, I boarded that same person who has transformed my life, my co-pilot of love and life, Norma Basurto,” he said in Spanish.
“From the day I met you, I knew I wanted to fly by your side in every adventure, in every storm and clear sky that life presents to us,” he said.
“Honey, I knew you were special from the day I met you, but over time I realized that you are everything I dreamed of. You are my refuge, my joy and the reason why I want to be better every day.”
“You have been my companion in great challenges and wonderful moments.”
He then asked her to stand explaining that he was watching through the cameras.
The pilot then appeared from the cockpit walking down the aisle — as he hoped she would be doing soon — to meet Basurto as everyone in the cabin excitedly watched on.
When the pilot was finally face to face with his girlfriend he got down on one knee and asked: “Will you marry me?”
