Father Raises Quadruplets Alone After Wife’s Tragic Death
Carlos and Erica Morales were overjoyed to learn they were expecting quadruplets after struggling with infertility. However, their happiness turned to heartbreak when Erica passed away from hypovolemic shock shortly after giving birth to their four children on January 12, 2015.
Carlos was left devastated but determined to raise his three daughters and one son—Carlos Jr., Paisley, Tracey, and Erica—in honor of his late wife. He took parenting classes and received support from Erica’s mother, Sondra Bridges, who moved in to help.
Despite his immense loss, Carlos remains dedicated to his children, calling them his greatest blessing. His story has touched hearts nationwide, showcasing love, resilience, and strength.
“I went from having the best day of my life to the next morning experiencing the worst day of my life,” said Morales. “My four babies came into the world and then my wife died.”
But all four babies, though tiny at between two and three pounds apiece, were healthy — and Morales has since been taking baby-care classes at a local hospital. “I need to be prepared,” he said.
